We’re delighted to welcome back Adrian McCarthy to Independent Audit as a Senior Advisor and our Ireland Country Representative.
Adrian brings a rare blend of legal, regulatory, and board-level insight—with over 30 years in financial services and a further 12 years as a solicitor and law firm partner. He also spent 9 years at the UK FSA and FCA, where he conducted Section 166 reviews, interviewed senior leaders under the approved persons regime, and acted as a specialist board reviewer.
Adrian worked closely with us from 2018 to 2023, and we’re very pleased that he’s returning with additional experience of the Irish financial services sector—at a time when the focus on governance effectiveness, accountability, and regulatory expectations has never been greater.
As Irish boards respond to evolving expectations from the Central Bank of Ireland and beyond, Adrian’s deep understanding of both the regulatory landscape and boardroom dynamics makes him a valuable sounding board.
